What is Support Coordination and what is the role of a Support Coodinator?
Support coordination is a service designed to help people with disabilities make the most of their NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

The role of a Support Coordinator is to:
-
Understand your goals and connect you to services
-
Provide assistance to navigate the system with confidence
-
Build your independence and enable you to make choices that suit your life
-
Walk beside you to explore what's possible
-
Tackle any challenges that come up (complex plan reviews, service gaps, or just feeling plain unsure)
Your goals, your pace, your life!
How do I know if I qualify for Support Coordination?
Support Coordination is not automatically included in every NDIS plan. Whether you qualify depends on your individual circumstances, goals, and the level of support you need to implement your plan effectively.
Here are some common reasons why Support Coordination might be funded:
-
You’re new to the NDIS and need help understanding how it works
-
You have complex needs or multiple supports to coordinate
-
You’re facing a major life transition (e.g. leaving school, moving out, starting work)
-
You’ve had difficulty using your plan in the past or need help building your capacity
-
You’re experiencing challenges like housing instability, mental health concerns, or limited informal supports
The NDIA will assess your situation during the planning or review process. If they determine that Support Coordination would help you get the most out of your plan, they may include it as a funded support.
If you're unsure whether you qualify, we can help you prepare for your planning meeting or review by gathering evidence and clearly explaining why Support Coordination would benefit you.
If you want help with that we are ready when you are!

What is Level 2 Support Coordination?
Level 2 Support Coordination, also known as Coordination of Supports, is designed for NDIS participants who need more than basic assistance but don’t require intensive specialist help.
Typically it includes:
-
Plan Implementation
-
Connecting with Services
-
Managing Supports
-
Building Capacity
-
Monitoring & Reporting
It’s a great option if you’re looking for guidance and coordination but still want to stay in control of your choices.
